Tauranga Special Olympics Plea
Help Get our Athletes to the World GamesBay of Plenty
Tauranga has two Special Olympics athletes selected to attend the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in March 2019. Funding has been extremely difficult this time around and we seek assistance from the public to support these amazing young athletes. Kelly Nathan has been selected to represent NZ in swimming and Morgan Penny in the NZ Basketball team. The cost is $12,500 per athlete and the athletes have contributed through various means $2,500 each and the club undertook to find the other $10,000 for each athlete but due to the economy funding grants have not been forthcoming and we are getting desperate and time is running out.
