  • Update for 13/07/2014

      13 July 2014

Tawhiti-Roa has now successfully completed his first stage of intensive treatment at Christchurch Hospital in the Child Cancer ward. He was allowed to return home to Wellington where he will continue his treatment for the next few years. Although it is still a long road to travel the positive prognosis has given us all something to celebrate. Thank you to everyone for their kindness, prayers, blessings and financial contributions. Your support is a burst of sunlight peeking out from the heavy clouds of a long winter storm. I will continue to post updates about Tawhiti-Roa and his whanau and their ongoing battle.

  • Update for 10/06/2014

      10 June 2014

Visiting Tawhiti-Roa in the Christchurch Child Cancer ward this week has been such a privilege. He is doing so well under the circumstances. The medicines he is on are wreaking havoc on his little body but he is such a battler. We still get smiles everyday even though he is so sore and sick. He is a fave with all the medical staff down here because he is such a sweetheart. It is incredibly hard seeing them all suffer and have to go through this scary journey. Even though his mum and dad are going through a parents worse nightmare they remain positive and strong. They are also incredibly grateful for the many kind donations from friends and whanau, and are blown away by the generosity of strangers who have made donations via Give A Little. Thank you so much. Next update will be when they come home to Wellington. We all can't wait.
