Supporting the mental health of young New Zealanders

Papamoa, Bay Of Plenty

February 2022, Taylor Kite - our precious son, brother, cousin, nephew, partner and mate - a young man full of promise, with a beautiful smile and heart, loving and loved by all - died by suicide aged just 22. In October of that year over 60 family and friends participated in the https://whitiangarunfest.co.nz/ in memory of Taylor and to raise funds for youth mental health in New Zealand. We raised over $20,000!

On 25 May, 2024 we are returning to the event to raise further funds! The choice of event is deliberate as Taylor spent most of his life holidaying at Cooks Beach. He loved the ocean and in particular fishing. He loved life. Until he didn't.

Please help us, in Taylor's name, to help support young people and save lives. It's easy to think that a tragedy like this only happens to "other people" - until, like us, you become them.

Soul Learning was founded by Leigh Patuawa who taught our son Taylor at Tauranga Boy's College.

Use of funds

Funds raised will go to Soul Learning Charitable Trust https://www.soullearning.co.nz/ to help expand their preventative mental health programme in to more secondary schools throughout New Zealand.
