Māori scholarship fundraiser for learner living abroad
Auckland
As part of our Te Wiki o Te Reo/Māori Language Week celebrations we are raising money for Māori to learn te reo Māori. Last year we raised $3,550 and gave scholarships to 10 Māori learners living outside of Aotearoa. This year we are aiming to raise even more!
There are many reasons why Māori don't know how to speak our language. Our aim is to provide generational healing by allowing Māori to connect with and reclaim our indigenous language.
All money donated will go towards providing Scholarships for Māori living outside of New Zealand who are experiencing financial hardship, and Māori elders who have been disconnected from their language to learn te reo Māori.
Ngā mihi nunui! Thank you for considering making a koha (donation) to support our Māori people and the revitalization of our language! Your generosity makes a profound and lasting difference in the life of a Māori language learner.
Ngā mihi manaakitanga,
