Te Waka Wahine Hauora: The Woman’s Health Bus.
We are fund raising to reduce the cost we charge women who are not able to access services through presently available avenues.
NationwideWomen in rural New Zealand have to travel long distances to reach specialist women’s health care.
Based in the Southern region, we are starting a mobile woman’s health bus where the service comes to the community, so women don’t need to travel.
Our goal is to run a non-profit-making social enterprise company staffed by doctors and nurses, able to provide a range of services identified by the communities themselves.
We will also provide training for community healthcare providers.
We will regularly travel around the lower South Island to provide a reliable service for those women who need it.
Use of funds
We are fund raising to pay for the specially designed mobile woman’s health clinic. Any additional funds will used to reduce cost to the women using the service.
