Jason works as a Tandem instructor / Camera man at Skydive the Beach Wanaka! With around 4700 jumps, he has competed at 3 comps.

"I started swooping competitively in 2014 at the Aussie nationals. I dove straight in the deep end and chose to see how the big boys rolled. I went into open and ended up 17 out of 19 - Didn't care about the results as I was there to experience comp swooping... Learnt so much and flew with a lot of legends! I got hooked and keen to get better throughout my skydiving career.

In 2015 I traveled to Europe and competed at 2 events: the Austrian Nationals and The Pink Open in Klatovy. I went into the Austrian Nats with no high expectations and ended up finishing 15th out of 15. I was bummed at the results but we had very tough conditions and I hadn't jumped in over 3 months so I was pretty un-current... Yea didn't train much at all. Next stop was Klatvoy. I was going there to better my results and ended up 59th out of 70. Was stoked and just hungry to keep pushing myself and get better and better and eventually end up on the podium."

It has been a dream of Jason to represent NZ since he started jumping back in 2009. "To finally be asked this year to fly for the Kiwis, I couldn't say no!"

He is aiming to score 9 rounds at the World Championships in Canada and 'see how it goes'.

"I cant wait. I've just been training hard and counting down the days!"

Jason is the newest addition to NZ's selection of swoopers. Follow his updates on his athlete's page - https://www.facebook.com/JasonCuzzyKum/?fref=ts

Welcome to our freshly launched TEAM NZ CANOPY PILOTING 2016 crowdfunding page!

The link to this page is now on social media and we want to say a massive thank-you to all our mates and their mates and their mates' mates; who have encouraged us to pull our resources together, who have said they are going to help us raise some money for the team and who are backing us on this epic journey.

Raising money as a team is a new thing for us, but we're all mates and want to back one another up so all the funds gathered through this campaign will go into a communal account to help the four of us train more, travel further and run harder.

We are asking everyone to share the link to this page and of course donate to our team fund too!
