After almost 20 years of rescuing and helping dogs and kittens in our community, closing Viks Rescue has been an incredibly difficult decision.
For two decades, I gave everything I had to helping animals and people — the late nights, early mornings, vet visits, bottle babies, emergencies, fundraising and countless hours behind the scenes. There was never a wage or financial reward. I simply did it because the animals needed me.
Since announcing our closure, this Givealittle page has raised around $1,500 over three months. We are truly grateful to everyone who has donated or shared the page. ❤️
At the same time, I have to be honest and say that the response has been quite emotional for me. After giving 20 years of my life to helping others, I had hoped that when I finally needed some support myself, the community might give a little something back.
I don't say this to make anyone feel guilty. I simply want people to understand that behind Viks Rescue was one person who gave an enormous amount of her time, energy and personal life to helping others.
If you can donate or share the page one more time, it would genuinely mean so much.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Viks Rescue over the years. ❤️
