Raising funds to support filming of an adventure empowerment film of an extraordinary NZ first west-to-east traverse.
Nationwide
An exciting first attempt to traverse the South Island from coast to coast, following the circle of latitude that is 45° south of the Earth's equator. From the rugged, untouched west...to the penguin colonies of the east...and everything in between.
Tanya will hike, paddle, run and cycle, this human-powered epic journey of over 500km - all the while being filmed for an adventure empowerment film aimed at inspiring women around the world to dream big.
This extraordinary adventure will see Tanya take the road less travelled and blaze a trail of her own making - with a map, compass, and a dream.
Tanya's first film 'Peak of Possibility' has inspired and changed lives around the world, and this second film aims to build on that.
Feedback on Peak of Possibility:
"Your words, 'You can do anything' came to mind...Those words kept me strong...So thank you, your film and films like yours can make a difference in someone's life"
"I loved watching your film. Arohanui"
"You are an amazing savage. Not knowing you, but seeing the smile as you take on the world is inspiring."
"I watched your film in Perth. I loved your film and your message and your radiating kindness."
This traverse is Tanya's biggest challenge yet, and the film will showcase the grit, determination, fun and growth that comes from taking the road less travelled. If you'd love to support the work Tanya does then please do make a donation to bring this extraordinary journey to cinemas around the world.
Tanya is also available for speaking engagements to community groups and businesses, where she can share the journey and the mindset it takes to get there.
If you are a business keen to sponsor the adventure there are opportunities for collaboration with sponsors.
Filming permits, food/cache/electronic equipment drops, essential equipment.
Made it!! 28 February 2022
And then it was done. 25 days, over 600km. Hiking, paddling, cycling 🏃🏻♀️🚵🏻♀️🚣♀️
I have so much to share, but I'm feeling pretty flat right now, and don't quite know where to start!
I haven't stopped dreaming that I'm still moving yet, a form of dreaming that started on the trip, that I hope will finish soon, though I can't seem to 'get to the end' in my dreams! 😅
There are so many stories to tell from an adventure that was so much more than I could have ever imagined.
Surreal is a good word to sum up how it all feels right now.
Exceptionally high highs, being challenged physically in ways I had never been challenged before, all while feeling so incredibly grateful to have the chance to visit places that not too many people get (choose?! 😜) to go.
So here's a photo that was taken as we arrived at George Sound. My arms are all scraped up from the bush bashing, I'm filthy, exhausted and in awe of what we have achieved, seen and the places we have been. I am also very hungry as we had been on food rations for a few days at this point! 😋
I want to thank again our amazing support crew and friends who got us through, and the sponsors that helped make it happen 🙏
