The Bailey Bunch

  • Fundraising Update

      21 November 2018

We're excited to announce that so far we've raised over $76,000 for the Bailey family.

In the words of Melissa, "Never did we imagine that a group of friends could care for our family so much that they would get together and raise this sort of money".

Ka pai team, together we've given Chris and Melissa some peace of mind in this difficult time. 💙

  • Fundraising Event - Saturday 10 November

      17 September 2018

We invite YOU and your friends to ‘A Night at the Races’ on Saturday 10 November at Heaton Intermediate, Christchurch. This event will help the Bailey family create a legacy of memories and to meet some of the ongoing costs of Chris’s treatment.

This event is a chance to come together as a community and great supporters of the Bailey family and raise some much needed funds. It will be a night of fun and frivolity, coupled with entertainment in the form of on-screen Horse Racing and fundraising in the form of silent auctions, raffles and a small live auction.

Supper will be served and sweet treats will be provided. A cash bar will be operating. Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased by emailing: BaileyBunch@srblaw.co.nz. Limited tickets, get in quick to avoid missing out!

  • *NEWSFLASH* Update from Chris

      15 August 2018

The hundreds of amazing texts, emails and wishes of support today culminated in the best possible biopsy diagnosis. I appear to have a low-grade neuroendocrine cancer with a prognosis of years rather than months – a diagnosis with just 5% likelihood. They’re still reviewing my case and treatment but it’s likely to involve monthly injections (without side effects) and radiation therapy in Melbourne (self-funded). The Give a Little funds already received will help us pay for some of that treatment and we could not be more grateful for or humbled by the support we have received. Our family and friends have gone through the darkest moments imaginable but we can’t thank everyone enough for the support, love, thoughts, prayers and massive generosity we’ve received in the past three weeks. More updates over the next couple of weeks but right now Lisso says I’m the luckiest unlucky person alive!
