The BIG Run and Row for the Milford Foundation!

$9,386 of $10,000 goal
Given by 68 generous donors in around 3 months

Carmen Paterson and Simon Corbett are taking on a couple of HUGE challenges to raise funds and awareness for the Milford Foundation.

Cambridge, Waikato

Simon Corbett and Carmen Paterson from the Milford Cambridge office are putting their bodies on the line for the Milford Foundation, and we want you to dig deep and show your support for these two awesome team members. They have committed to a couple of gruelling challenges to help raise funds and awareness for the Milford Foundation, with a side benefit of getting pretty fit in the process!

THE RUN - Carmen’s running around Rarotonga on 24 September 2022 – yes the entire island! That's a 31km run as part of the Rarotonga Road Race.

Carmen is asking for $1/km, so $31 to complete the race – you’re welcome to go above this if you want for a fantastic cause. HOWEVER, if a time of 3hrs 20mins is beaten, then how about committing to doubling your initial donation? Running around uneven roads and dodging chickens in the hot sun won’t be easy!

THE ROW - Simon’s rowing a full marathon on 1 October 2022! That's 42,195 metres on a rowing machine! Ouch! Simon will train on his rowing machine in the garage, bike riding and rowing on Lake Karapiro with Waikato Rowing Club. The big row will be at a local gym in Cambridge!

Simon is asking for $1/km. So $42 if he completes it – but of course he is keen to raise as much as possible for a great cause. HOWEVER, if he breaks the current NZ record then he would love nothing more than donors DOUBLING what they have committed to! What’s the NZ record? Indoorrowing.co.nz has the fastest men’s time recorded in NZ as 2hr 45mins 58.7secs set in 2020.

They did it!! Phew!  5 October 2022

CONGRATULATIONS to Carmen and Simon who have now both completed their (very) sweaty challenges!!

Carmen reported that her huge 31km run was hot, long and hard but she said "she got it done!". An awesome effort and she definitely earned a cocktail after that one!

Simon smashed out his 'rowathon' over the weekend in 2 hours 57 minutes! Such an epic achievement, and a couple of blisters to show for it... Simon reported that having a row buddy to go the distance with him was a huge help - but the last 6kms were tough!

Carmen, Simon and The Milford Foundation would like to give a huge thank you all our donors for your generous support, which has helped them get incredibly close to their goal of $10,000!
