I thought I’d be sentenced to button ups and zip ups for at least a month, but I can wear regular shirts now! Just slowly and carefully 🕺🏻
Recovery has been steady, and I think I’m past the major fatigue, fogginess, and pain now. I still get little spikes of pain every so often, but it’s more like a surface injury pain rather than the deep ache it was the first few days.
I’d never really liked my body or felt comfortable in it - it was always just a means to an end.
But the pure joy I feel now just running my hands down my own flat chest - it’s hard to believe it all finally real!
I’ve just swapped out the post-surgery hospital binder for a standard compression top! Everything is slightly tender, and I hurt myself trying to lift a pillow too aggressively, so I’ll really have to be more careful 😳
Otherwise, everything is amazing!!! The surgery and hospital stay etc couldn’t have gone more smoothly, and even as someone who’s never experienced anything remotely like this before, I think everything’s gonna be just fine.
But I couldn’t have done it without your support, my dad driving out and staying with me the whole day of the surgery, and my friends waking up at 6am to accompany me to the hospital.

A few days ago, I realized that very very soon, I’ll actually be able to wear whatever I want again.
I’ve been wearing the exact same baggy t-shirt and shorts combo for so long, only considering how much/how little an item of clothing will hide my chest/body before I buy it.
I didn’t realize I’ve missed expressing myself through my clothes, and now in less than 48 hours, I can again!!
So thank you for giving me this, and so much more 💗💗💗

Only one week to go till the Big Snip!!
Time has flown so fast 😮💨 when I started this fundraiser some nine ish weeks ago, it felt like 11 May was ages away, and I still had so much work to do.
Fundraising events concluded (sort of? ✨👀) two weeks ago, and tbh I kind of miss it! It was fun running little events, and I appreciate so much that you all came along for the ride 💗
I’ll keep everyone updated on here and on my insta about the surgery, my recovery, work plans, etc! While I’m recovering and unable to work too, I’ll try doing some little things to hopefully get to the $10k goal!

Both events were huge successes, and I couldn’t thank everyone enough for contributing - all the movie night attendees for being so fun and respectful of Light House, and everyone who came in for flash last Saturday for being so generous, chill, and again, respectful of us and our studio 🥰

Biggest thank you of all to Kayleigh and Justine, my fellow tattoo artists and friends, without whom I literally couldn’t have done the flash day 🏆🏆✨✨ the two biggest MVPs of all
So my surgery will be around $20,000 🌸🌸✂️ which includes surgeon’s fees, anaesthetist fees, overnight accommodation, theatre, recovery, and medical supplies.
It’s around what I expected, although if it does somehow end up being a tiny bit lower, I won’t complain lol

In three weeks time, with the help of Light House Cinema Cuba, I'll be hosting a movie night to help raise funds for my top surgery!
As you can probably tell, we'll be watching the Super Mario Bros. Movie! I have no idea whether it'll be legitimately good, or really weird 🤷🏻♂️ either way, come along for just $20 and find out!

Lastly, in terms of a quote for my surgery, I've yet to receive a quote from the hospital! It's been just over two weeks since my consultation, and when I rang the hospital, they said that atm they were giving patients quotes the week prior to their surgery? 🥲🥲🥲 idk if that's standard practice, but I really hope I can get a quote earlier than that. How else do people budget for their surgeries if they only know the total cost the week before?
