The six cats that stayed together and thriving despite the uncertain start.

Auckland

Bootsie wandered into our lives over three years ago. A year after we first met her, our lives were changed forever.

For over a year, it seemed she had a home, and previously had a litter of kittens. We never saw these kittens, but knew she was pregnant. It appeared she was looked after, and seen as we had quite a few visitors (other cats that would pop on by) we did not think much of it.

But her next pregnancy was different. She did not want to leave our house. One morning, she was following me around everywhere, even the shower! Until finally it was time, and one of the most exciting and terrifying moments of my life occurred – Bootsie delivered 5 beautifully healthy kittens!

However, no one seemed to be looking for Bootsie. We did our best to find where her previous home was, but seen as she was not micro-chipped, and no one around us seemed to know anything, our decision was made. We would keep her.

We just did not know if we could afford to keep six cats, or even if keeping all of them was right for them. But we were in love.

I believe God has blessed us. Bootsie not only came to our house to hang out, she chose US. She picked out a room to have her babies in. And despite financial difficulties at the time, and limited finances still, through the generosity of others, and careful management of finances, these little ones have been able to stay together.

The best decision of our lives!

Hi Diana, thank you so much for your generous donation for the cats and the support of the channels! I’ve been thinking about saving up for a bigger cat tower seen as the bubbas are now 3 years old. This will help heaps! 😊
