New hope for ending her pain.

Summer has been fighting to get a diagnosis for the past 5 years. She is unable to work due to the severity of the symptoms and is often in hospital or is stuck visiting multiple doctors and specialists with little answers. She has spent several nights in hospital over the years, only to be released with little to no answers. On one of these visits they found several ruptured cysts using a portable ultrasound unit, but they have only ever done ultrasounds during one of these visits.

She has been given the possible diagnosis of endometriosis, which is an extremely painful condition that requires surgery to diagnose and additional surgery to try and help. Even then, she may still face ongoing problems or further surgeries in the future.

We have had two private consultations with the last one recommending that she has a laparoscopic procedure to diagnose and potentially remove some of the areas that are causing concern.

She has been on the public waiting list for 5 years already and we are still waiting for an initial consult, so our best bet is to go private. This will cost approximately $25,000 for the surgery alone and wull have her away from home for a number of days but we feel it is our best bet to avoid her having to resort to going to the emergency department in severe pain while waiting for the public system.
