Robbie gave me my life back, now I want to give back to Robbie, as I won't be the only person he has helped through their darkest days.

Nationwide

My name is Sandy, and I have been dealing with mental health issues over the years, and as we know Mental health is a critical issue that affects millions of people worldwide. The stigma surrounding mental health often prevents people from seeking help, leading to devastating consequences.

However, one man from Geraldine made a difference in my life,

It was my darkest day, I had a Plan, I had a Place, I was writing a letter to my children, when for some reason Robbies videos popped up on my facebook, fighting through the tears it all made sence,

His honest approch to mental health, his talks, videos and posts got to my interal being and helped break me free of my darkest day, Even tho he makes videos for thousands of people to veiw, his content got right inside, as if he was talking to me directly.

Robbie Shefford may not be an immediately familiar name, his trademark ginger mutton chops and Gooserooter nickname are perhaps more likely to strike a chord of recognition. Towering in at six foot four, his personality is just as immense, Geraldine-born and bred, Robbie has amassed quite the social media following for his The Gooserooter at Truck This and Truck That page, where his down-to-earth personality and raucous sense of humour sees him connect with a diverse audience, from Truckies and Contractors to Farmers and Mechanics as he connects with people at a grassroots level about Life, Mental Health, Depression and Positive Thinking

Since my darkest day, Robbie has become my friend, Mentor and still helps me with every video and post he creates

I hear your vision. We have met a couple of times, your brave optimism with a buggered knee was inspiring. Keep those clarity moments, what you have done, are doing & plan to do are awesome. Don’t ever be scared or ashamed to ask for help, kiwis give when asked most times, but hang back if not. Don’t feel ashamed, nearly everyone at some stage will experience a short or long period of anxiety & or depression, it’s an illness like asthma. If your meds cease or reduce help, ask for a change of prescription, over time some are less effective working on serotonin levels. Cyber hug, you are doing great things for yourself & others.
