Helping our local fellow horseman in his time of need.
Waimauku, Auckland
There’s a local hero in our community, a well-known “go to man” for everything equine related, who is always on hand to help and support the local community. Right now he needs our help – but wouldn’t dream of asking himself, so we are doing so on his behalf (& with his reluctant permission).
A few months ago, this local hero was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After carefully considering his options he has decided to try the holistic way for treatment, which comes as no surprise to those who know him. Why spend your last few months with no quality of life being sick with chemo? However, as the holistic treatment is not funded, he is still trying to work between treatments, training horses, trimming, etc as well as keeping up with looking after his own horses – many of which he has acquired due to their previous owners also being in dire straits.
We have created this Give a Little page to primarily assist with funding the care of his horses to remove some of the financial burden from him. Some funds may also be used towards his treatment. He’s asked us not to share his name, but please PM me if you would like more details.
We have know Dave for the last 15 years or more, he does not have any family here in NZ and we consider him as family and know that here are people out there that would like to help him. Jacqueline is my daughter and is currently helping with looking after the horses.
