A message from Sian
29 April 2025I am so proud (and a little achey!) to share that I completed the London Marathon! It was an incredible day - full of emotion, challenge and a deep sense of purpose - and I couldn’t have done it without your incredible support. From the words of encouragement, messages of support, to the generous donations, every bit of it kept me going - especially during those tough final kilometres.
The spirit of this incredible event, the sense of unity among 67,000 runners and over a million supporters who lined the streets cheering for friends, family, colleagues and strangers, was the most inspiring and humbling experience. Thank you to everyone who generously donated to Hōkai Tahi - an organisation working to provide maternal mental health support to mothers. By running, fundraising and simply starting conversations, I hope to raise awareness of the challenges new mothers face, and the urgent need for supports and services in our South Wairarapa region. This accomplishment isn’t just mine, because together we raised over $5577 (the page closes on 3rd of May so still time to encourage others to donate!). These funds will provide valuable support for people who really need it, so thank you.
Knowing I had some many people behind me made all the difference. Whether you cheered me on in person, tracked my progress online or simple sent good luck vibes, I felt it all - and I’m so grateful. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
With tired legs but a full heart,
Sian
