We’ve recently started helping a group of 13 wild cats.
Two kittens, with no care or desexing, have gone on to have kittens of their own. The numbers have quickly grown.
We’re now stepping in to stop the breeding and give these cats some ongoing care. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be trapping, desexing and microchipping the cats, then releasing them back into their environment.
We’ll also be providing food, shelter and healthcare for them going forward.
The kittens will be taken to SPCA Thames, where they’ll hopefully get the chance to be socialised and find their forever homes.
It’s a bit of a project, but we’re hoping to give these cats the care they’ve been missing and give the kittens a better start.
We are fundraising for Waihi Town Cats who have helped us with desexing vouchers and SPCA Thames are giving us support, trapping cages and assistance with the kittens
