Help us build our Nativity Tree of Cans and support Auckland City Mission this Christmas.
Auckland
The Nativity Project at Holy Trinity Cathedral draws attention to an important environmental or social issue each year.
A collaborative project by The Friends of the Cathedral and ADJust, the theme for the 2020 installation will be HOMELESSNESS.
The nativity installation will include an interactive can drive to support the Auckland City Mission and stand with the thousands of Aucklanders in desperate need this Christmastime.
We intend to build a Christmas Tree made exclusively from food cans in the Cathedral and we hope that visitors will bring a can or more to add to our tree. For those that cannot visit the Nativity Project installation and donate their cans in person, we welcome donations to this page which will be used to purchase sufficient food cans to replenish deleted food stocks.
Any excess funds over and above our target will be directed to Auckland City Mission's HomeGround Project - a purpose-built, safe space to stand against homelessness, hunger and poor health in Auckland CBD. This project will be completed in 2021.
Holy Trinity Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Anglican Diocese of Auckland. Each year, we place a Christmas Can Tree in the Cathedral Nave during Advent for people to donate food items to the Auckland City Mission. Thank you for your generous support.
