We will be so proud to open The Regent this winter. But we need some help. Help us, please.

A night out at the movies could mean staying right here in Dannevirke in the future.
The Regent Theatre was built in 1918 on the site of the original Bank of NSW and is registered by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust Board as a category two building in recognition of its historical and cultural heritage significance. The Regent was New Zealand's only provincial theatre from the World War I era to have remained open continuously, apart from short periods for repair and refurbishment, and showed movies until it closed in 2011.
Reopening The Regent will cost a lot of hard work and a lot of expenses. But it will contribute so much to the town of Dannevirke and the people who lives there. The hard work will be provided by local workers and volunteer helpers, but the main costs will be for a new digital movie projector, which will cost around 25000§ and this amount is the primary goal for this fund. So please help us!
I work as a volunteer to help the owner of The Regent to reopen this historic and impressive movie theatre in its 100th. year anniversary since it opened originally.
Primarily the money from this fund will be spent on a movie projector, which of course is essential. Secondary there are some safety issues that needs to be solved and new vinyl for the floor is also on the list.
