Help make Hundertwasser's New Zealand paradise available for guided tours and visitation
Hundertwasser lived at a remote location in the Bay of Islands. It has been 24 years since he passed away but his spirit lives on at Kaurinui. We are restoring his property to the condition he left it, in preparation for opening to guided tours and public visitation. The property is a magical paradise, living testimony to Hundertwasser's unrelenting efforts to restore territories to nature. A place, a retreat, a sanctuary where he lived and created according to his philosophies, in peace and harmony with nature.
Stage 1 of this Not for Profit project is nearing completion. Funded to date by generous support from Lotteries, Foundation North, Northland Inc., Big Fish Creative, passionate volunteers, and major investment from the Hundertwasser Non-Profit Foundation. We are close to opening.
Exhibition expenses and installation, Security infrastructure, Restoring and upgrading Access, Public Facilities, IT Equipment, Visitor Transport Vehicle, Health and Safety management plan. Marketing/Web page.
Final straight! 6 November 2024
A huge thanks to all those who have supported us. Our funding goal can now be reduced having partially achieved our goal through this site and other generous donors. As we move into the last stages of our restoration and the installation of our permanent exhibition, we focus on the funding for our guest transport vehicle.
Once again many thanks for all your support.
