The Vault Venue Fundraiser

Auckland's cultural scene has changed drastically over the past few years, and I think that many of us can agree that it is time for a change.

While Whammy Bar, The Wine Cellar and Neck of the Woods are doing an excellent job in keeping music cranking for those of us who are 18+, there is a glaring hole in the "under ages" scene. That's where I want everyone to get involved.

I have come across an insanely awesome basement space on Cross St (just behind K' Rd) which I have been working like mad to sound proof and get ready to be turned into an all ages venue / practice space / exhibition area etc. Got an artistic based project that needs a home? This will be the place.

The only thing holding me back at this point is money (I'm sure you're all very surprised). Once I have it up and running as planned, this won't be an issue. But right now I have to fund a whole back-line, a ton of soundproofing, a deposit and insurance. If you work in retail (as I do), you'll know that your weekly pay wouldn't come close to covering all these costs.

So I'm putting the call out to all of my pals, family, acquaintances and strangers. Please help out. This project needs a community to back it, and any cent that comes this way will be put towards The Vault. NONE - I repeat - NONE of it is coming directly to me. I will be putting every dollar of my own towards this project with no monetary payback.

So why don't ya chuck a cheek dollar (or a few) this way?
