Enter details of your update here Two treatments complete and I have to say I am feeling wonderful. For some reason the drug arrived at the clinic 12 hours early. I received a phone call at 4.30 on Wednesday night to either get to the clinic by 7 in the morning, or come now. I replied that I will be there in the hour, as they do prefer the chemo to be administered asap after it has been mixed. I rung a friend who was able to come with me, and then drive me home afterwards. The drug takes 45 minutes to administer and then we come home. The next day is slow and I feel exhausted. But then I recover and it is back to normal. A lump on my neck had arrived and was noticeably growing, this has now shrunk so I am certainly positive the chemo is working. (Absolutely Awesome Amazing news)

The fundraising evening that was organised to help me was a great success. The local community got behind some friends and raised enough money to fund 4 treatments. This is so overwhelming. Being there on the Saturday night and knowing that I had so much support from so many friends is something very difficult to put into words. Everywhere I looked there was someone I knew giving me a smile and just being there. It is in times like this when friends and family get together that you realise how important they all are. I could not be doing this on my own, but I am determined to win which is helped with such strong support from the community. I just want to say thankyou.

HI Everyone Yesterday morning I had my first treatment of the new drug T-DM1. I am now the second person in New Zealand to have this. Thank you all for continuing to support me on this fight against cancer. My daughter has been helping with the fundraising and has donated her pocket money earned this holiday towards funding T-DM1 for me. This is going to be a long fight as I plan on being here a long time. The side effects of T-DM1 so far have been fairly similar to the other treatment I was on. I was tired and had a slight feeling of nausea but nothing that I could not cope with. I am having treatment every 3 weeks at a cost of $5500 per treatment. We need to get this drug funded by pharmac for others who will need it in the future
