Theo is fundraising to attend the World Scout Jamboree in 2019 in the USA, being one of 36 going from New Zealand.
Nelson / Tasman
Theo is a 14-year-old Scout from Brightwater, Nelson. He has been all through Keas, Cubs and now Scouts. He has gained many leadership skills through Scouts and is now helping out at Keas each week by running some games and activities. He is currently working on his Chief Scout Award - the highest award in the Scout section.
He is raising funds to attend the World Scout Jamboree in 2019 in West Virginia, USA. This is a once in a lifetime experience. He will be going with a contingent from New Zealand, but he is the only one attending from the Upper South Island. He is doing many raffles, quiz nights and sausage sizzles to help raise the approximate $10000 he will need.
Theo will spend three weeks in the USA, some doing a pre-tour and 12 days at the Jamboree. They are expecting 40000 Scouts in attendance at the Jamboree. Activities include an 8.8km zip line, 25363 sq m of bmx track, a 7.62m high rope course, and many more activities.
I am Theo's mother and am helping him raise money to attend the World Scout Jamboree in 2019 in the USA.
Going towards the cost of getting to the Jamboree - this is set by Scouts New Zealand and it covers the cost of the Jamboree entry fee, flights to and from the USA, accomodation on the pre and post-tour, and uniform.
