Yes, the billboard is installed. Took 4 hours on Sunday to get the timber frame up and the pegs into the rock-hard ground. Thanks Dave (hubbie) for stellar effort, especially with the sledgehammer!

Drive by. Post your reactions on www.facebook.com/thevisitchch please...

Thanks to Tonni at Twotone Design for translating my concept into a print-ready file for signage company. Stellar!! Here's a taster… (it's pixilated cos I've zoomed in heaps; won't be on the real thing)

Ooooh it's getting exciting. Not long till the big reveal.

  • Framework completed - soon to be in situ

Got some helpful advice from a billboard installer. Darling Dave (hubbie) drew up a plan and we bought the timber today. The Jack Russell, affectionately known as Wag, oversaw construction run-through in our backyard. Test run a success! The hard part will be erecting it on the site: sledge-hammering in the pegs and lifting the framework in place.

Mona, we might take you up on your offer of a lifting hand :-). As for our other friends we might have asked for assistance...one has a broken arm, another a shoddy leg…. There are probably other sundry excuses why others aren't able to help! LOL.

If you get an unexpected call next weekend...

The section on Barbadoes Street has the green light - thanks to the owner. Thanks Liz!

Planning the design of the timber frame …and design concept for billboard going to graphic artist this week.

ETA still looking like the week of 29th March. Fingers crossed!

Thanks to all those lovely supporters out there!

PS A second section in the CBD is available in April…so might transfer the billboard in April-May.
