Please support Timothy Choi for 2024 Table Tennis World Championships and his dream for the last ticket to the Paris Olympics Singles!
Auckland
Hello, my name is Timothy and I'm 16 years old. I'm a form 6 student at Auckland Grammar School this year and I love Table Tennis. Please read on as your interest will be the best help I can get for my future as a Table Tennis player!
I've been part of ATTA until the end of 2022, and now am a player of NSTTA (Tornado Club) since January 2023. I was selected as Junior Rep from when I was 10 years old. I also placed overall 1st in the Oceania Championships as well as the Selection Games for the 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifications.
The BIG NEWS is that I've been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2024 World Team Table Tennis Championships held for 10 days in Busan, South Korea starting on the 16th February! Then in May, the qualification games for Paris Olympics Singles is held in Oceania. For this, I must meet the criteria of competing in 2 competitions held outside of Oceania.
I'm truly grateful and honoured for the opportunity to be able to compete with the best players from all around the world. However, the required expenses are quite high. The total will add up to be over $15,000. I've been participating in many competitions previously and all the financial demand was a big load on my parents. I'm hoping that for once, I don't have to put pressure on my family. I ask for your support and donation so that I can persevere as a promising NZ rep, proud AGS student and continue my passion for Table Tennis.
I send my sincere thanks to everyone that supports my journey.

Additional chance towards 2024 Paris Olympics! 29 January 2024
After Busan, the qualification games for Paris Olympics Singles will be held in Oceania. This is my once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Up until the Paris Olympics in July, I must meet the criteria of competing in 2 competitions held outside of Oceania. The additional expenses are expected to be around $5,000 - $6,000 per competition. I'll be focused on intense training to up-skill my playing until then and I would LOVE to be able to compete in these games without another load being put on my family.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated and supported me along my journey! It truly means the world to me!
