    Tipene walked free from prison yesterday morning. He has electronic monitoring and a curfew but he is very pleased to be out. His first meal was fish and chips and kina. The Hui news programme is doing an update on his release on Monday 6th Dec 2021 so keep an eye out for that. He is trying to get some more clothes and we have sorted him out with bedding and the basics. Tipene is getting used to reconnecting with the outside world and is catching up with his friends and whanau. He is happy to be alive and is enjoying his freedom. He would like to thank everyone who has helped him through this givealittle page for supporting his release and helping him be successful in rebuilding the life that has been on pause for 5.5 years. :) Tipene looks forward to the next phase of his life that is starting now.

  • One more sleep!

    Thank you to everyone who has donated to the cause of helping Tipene Halford get himself set up when he leaves prison tomorrow. He has all kinds of problems to solve in the first week or two - getting a bank account, renewing his driver's licence so he can get a bank account, running errands and setting up his life again. It will take him a little while to be able to thank all his generous donors personally, but I know he is deeply appreciative for all the helping hands out there. Tomorrow he is released... I will update you on how that goes. :) Tanya

  • Less than a week until he walks back to his life

    Tipene gets out on Monday next week and still needs your help. Clothing, basic necessities, transport to job interviews. He Is excited and looking forward to his release. He wants me to pass on huge thanks to all donors, he really appreciates the helping hand. Only a few more days to go on the givealittle page, so if you are thinking of contributing, do it soon before it closes. Thanks everyone, it means so much to him.
