A video for you. For me. For us. For our neighbours, our children, our mates, our teachers, those in parliament, those working for our District Health Boards, the mental health sector, those in the media and everyone else that has access to this short film.

This is a video that was put together by my partner’s very talented brother, Dominic. He filmed this in a day and couldn’t have made it more perfect.

We wanted to create something special, after Mental Illness took our dad’s life. A video that would show us how strong we are as a family, and how those who decide to watch this short film can help one another (or others) going through something similar.

If you do enjoy this short film, please share it with those that mean the most to you. We hope it helps someone, and many others find their strength.

In loving memory of our Dad,

    Sydney David Harris

To all my friends, family and the many who don’t even know our whānau. “Thank you “ from the very essence of my heart. We have been so very grateful for all the support, small or large. We know that life brings us challenges at different times in our life and how we handle these challenges is the best indication of not only our inner strength, but also our ‘outer strength’ being our support crew. I am not sure the inner strength would have held up at all if it wasn’t for you - ‘our support crew’. Those friends who Syd loved dearly, and those whom he never met (but would have been so very proud of) and humbled by during our crisis. It is hard to fathom Syd felt so alone when in reality all of you were always there. Times seem a little harder now that Christmas is over. New Year just around the corner and it is hard to let go of 2018, yet I very much would like 2019 to be a good year. A year that brings greater strength with new and rekindled friendships. Thank you everyone ❤️
