Tofa is getting a haircut!

    Hi all,

    I wanted to reach out to let you all know that after 15 or so months I finaaaally finished my volunteering hours.

    I set the goal of volunteering 8h of my time for each $1000 I raised for charity. I raised ~$8000 for Wellington Children's Hospital and Canteen (an outstanding total, and again thanks to all), equating to 64h of volunteering.

    It got me out and about in the Wellington community, doing some things I had never done before.

    I found out quickly the hardest part for me wasn’t the volunteering, it was organising the volunteering work for myself. I found that signing myself up to reoccurring shifts rid me of this burden. I am a little embarrassed it took this long, but I wanted to do it properly and we got there in the end.

    Turning up was the easy part, and I met many fun and interesting people along the way. Thank you.

  • Finally getting a haircut

    Team,

    Its been a good August fundraising money for Wellington Children's Hospital and CanTeen. The bake sale at Beca (my work) went awesome and it helped me edge past $4000/$5000 total. I am now sitting at ~$4400, which is enough to buy the medical grade drugs fridge for the Children's Hospital, a massive achievement.

    At last. I will be cutting my hair this Saturday at the Wellington Olympic Clubrooms, Wakefield park this Saturday 27th of August. The hair is going to be donated and a wig made for someone who needs it!

    Entry will be $10 and will include a few snacks, not to mention live viewership of the haircut. All the entry money will go towards my fundraiser.

    Event starts at 6pm, haircut around 7:30pm. The bar at the clubrooms will be open, so you can grab a drink too.

    I would love to see you all there. Please pop over to Facebook and RSVP to the event page "Tofa is getting a haircut" so I have an idea on numbers.

    We are almost there, so lets go out and smash the fundraising target, all for a great cause!

  • Half way there!!

    Hi all,

    Thanks heaps for the donations so far! I have done my best to thank you personally but if I have forgotten, please forgive me.

    We have made it over half way, but still have a long way to go. With the amount we have raised so far, I will have to do two and a half full days of volunteering. However, I know it will be even more by the end of the month.

    I am running a bake sale at work tomorrow to help raise some money and to spread the word about the fundraiser. Shout out to my mum for baking industrial quantities of top notch Greek sweets. Also to Hey George Cafe in Kilbirnie for the caramel slice (IYKYK). If you are coming along, you should defo buy that stuff instead of the chocolate cake that I made.

    I made a silly promise that I would do the bake sale with my hair straightened, so I am currently in the process of getting this done. I don't know how you girls do it aye, it is so much admin and I am not even straitening it myself!

    Lastly, I will be cutting my hair on the 27th of August. I still have a few details to confirm but keep an eye out for more info on this.
