Give a little and help make our community safer!
Canterbury
Crime and theft happening in the Sumner area over recent years has increase considerably.
A recent survey of the residents of Sumner has highlighted that our community members are feeling vulnerable.
Safer Sumner has been formed by a group of concerned and affected residents to put together a strategy and purchase and install surveillance equipment. The footage on these cameras will only be viewed by the police and security staff when a crime has been reported to help their investigations and is erased every 30 days.
We are working closely with Matt Wood (also a local resident) from the Security Company, October Protection. Matt will provide the cameras at cost and donate the installation. We are currently confirming the details of the installation location.
How can you help? To set up two cameras initially we require at least $4,000. These cameras will capture traffic coming in and out of the Village. Ultimately we would like to install a further two more cameras to increase the coverage.
If you would like to help keep Sumner Safer we welcome your donations to this Give a Little page. This page will be open for a limited time and any surplus funds made will be given back to the Sumner Community.
We appreciate your support in helping us make Sumner Safer!
