A fundraising page to help our loved ones in Tonga rebuild and recover from the recent volcanic eruption and tsunami

Our local families (kāinga) in South Canterbury desperately want to send items to their families in Tonga. 🌺 We are fundraising for the costs associated with transporting 3 containers and essential supplies to be shipped from Timaru to Tonga. Family to Family.

We are grateful for any support as it’s really hard being over here unable to see our families and loved ones (during COVID too) but this way we know we can get necessities and supplies to them.

NOTE: The containers will go to the Tongan National Emergency Management Office in Tonga and we are receiving support and guidance from from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Pacific Peoples and Tongan Consul.

Thank you to each of you for donating to our Tongan Society South Canterbury fundraiser. We have confirmed that containers will be shipped middle of March. We are now organising drums and essential supplies to be transported! A huge thank you to everyone who has helped, whether monetary or with time! We are so humbled :) We will be closing the Give-A-Little page now and pooling all funds to our authorised bank account.
