Hi! I'm Felix and I am FTM (female to male) transgender. Will you please help me get top surgery? ~ Page photo by Pip Clark ~
Hi! I'm Felix and I am right-handed, an atheist, a donor, a millennial, a graduate, a student, a playwright, a comedian and FTM (female to male) transgender. Getting top surgery (breast tissue removal, btw) would make me feel a lot better in my body. I plan on self-funding my top surgery because in New Zealand it is about a 20 year wait on the public funding list! I'm not so keen on waiting until I'm 48 to feel completely comfy in my body, but it will also take me a rrrreally long time to raise the $15k for top surgery from saving alone. So I'm asking for your help.
If you don't want to, don't. But if you can and you want to, your help is infinitely appreciated. The smallest donation makes a huge difference.
Funds will be used to pay for top surgery (bilateral mastectomy and male chest reconstruction) for Felix.

All my life I have seen myself as a boy. Once old enough to realise that I had a 'female' body, I felt like something wasn't right. I really wished that I could go back and just be born as a boy.
When puberty came along both society and my body told me I was a girl. I tried really hard to work with that, but it didn't come naturally to me.
When I was 19 I came out as a lesbian. I learned about gender variance and realised that I, like many gender non-variant people, don't feel that the gender between my ears lined up with the sex 'between my legs', but I thought I could be comfortable just knowing this but the world still seeing me as a girl.
Over the next 10 years the feeling that I may be transgender kept popping up more and more, with increasing intensity. I felt for a long time that I didn't know what my gender was and I wished I knew for sure, that it would be easier. My friend Ryan, who is also FTM, gave me great advice: "it will tell you when it is ready."
He was right. When I was ready, I knew. I am a guy. I just happened to have been born in a 'girls' body. It's no big deal really, I'm the same person I was before, and I always will be. But I decided that I wanted to start making steps to change my body so it more closely resembled the way I see myself. I want the world to see me as I see myself - as a guy.
There's a few steps in that process, the four most important being these:
1. My name being Felix.
2. People using he/him/his when referring to me/
3. Getting what I call my "cuppa T" - testosterone prescription
4. Top surgery for a flat, male chest.
I can do all the other stuff. But I need some help to get the last.
Funds will be paid to a verified bank account of Freya Desmarais.
