Planting 2020 totara to celebrate Te Ara Kākāriki reaching the milestone of having planted 100,000 native seedlings and 100 Greendots.
Canterbury
In 2020 Te Ara Kākāriki will plant our 100,000th native seedling and our 100th Greendot in the Greenway linking the Canterbury Foothills to Banks Peninsula and Te Waihora/Lake Ellesmere.
To celebrate we are planting 2020 totara seedlings through our community and Kids Discovery Plantout days as well as with the help of Greendot owners and community groups.
Through this give a little page we hope to raise funds for the totara seedlings and some plant guards. Totara seedlings will then be available by arrangement to our Greendot landowners and other Community groups to add to their existing native plantings.
Te Ara Kākāriki are working with landowners, community groups and volunteers to plant a native Greenway or corridor, linking the mountains to the sea between the Rakaia and Waimakariri Rivers. We support landowners to plant the right species in the right location and run volunteer and student planting events to create native stepping stones.
