Tour Aotearoa - sponsor Shantel to raise funds for Whenua Iti Outdoors
Donate to WIO! Shantel is riding 3000km (the length of Aotearoa) to help us get young people outdoors and connected to natureNationwide
Both Whenua Iti Outdoors and Shantel Thilman understand how essential it is to get young people into the great outdoors and connected to nature. That's why Shantel decided to use her upcoming Tour Aotearoa ride to raise funds for WIO to deliver more programmes for more people in our community.
WIO programmes create challenges to get people out of their comfort zones and that is exactly what Shantel will be doing on her ride too. Cycling 100+ km per day, often off road and needing to be self sufficient is a tough challenge and one Shantel is keen to take on alongside 1000 other riders. She is aiming to complete the 3000km in 23 -30 days and we are excited that we can follow her progress on the Tour Aotearoa website http://www.touraotearoa.nz/p/home.html.
We're aiming to raise $1 per kilometer that Shantel rides to support the young people in our region who need support to attend our programmes. By donating to this cause you can support young people to get off their devices and jump head first into an often life changing adventure!
Shantel will be wearing a WIO top as she cycles - look out for her and cheer her on :)
Engaging youth in exciting, rewarding and developmental Journeys of Discovery in the Outdoors. Individuals come together as a team, challenge adversity, develop confidence and independence whilst working as a unified group.
Use of funds
Your donation will be used to support youth in our communities who would otherwise be unable to participate in a WIO programme. The most vulnerable are often the people who benefit most so we work hard to ensure cost is not a barrier to participation.
