A group of avid primary industry colleagues have banded together in an effort to support two key New Zealand charities, Life Flight and Burwood Spinal Unit through a charity cycling event.
Tour to Mayo has been termed so to show our support to our friend Elton Mayo who had a tragic accident at the start of March 2020 which has left him paralyzed. This event is a fundraiser to show our support to him and his family through his recovery along with providing financial support to the amazing Burwood Spinal Unit, Elton’s current rehab facility and the Life Flight.
Our aim is to get twenty bike riders the distance from Palmerston North to Burwood to raise awareness around the great work of the two New Zealand charities. Palmerston North is Elton’s home town and where he has spent a considerable amount of time contributing to the agricultural sector.
In order to ensure the success of this very important fundraiser, we are seeking contributions to go directly to the two charities, so that more people can be supported in the future.
Generous donors like you are the key to our success and make it possible for these organisations to continue giving the high level of care to patients like Elton.
Your donation will be listed on all our social media accounts for the event, your logo on our shirts and jackets as we ride the journey to Christchurch as well as on the event website page.
There are multiple ways you can contribute to this fantastic cause, by support a rider on a per kilometre basis for the 503-kilometre journey or by making a donation to the events give a little page, both forms will go directly to the charities equally.
We thank you for your time and consideration.
All of the funds are going to Life Flight and Burwood Spinal Unit
