We would like to raise funds to travel to Hobart to represent Kenakena School and NZ at the International Final of Tournament of Minds.
Wellington
Tournament of Minds is a competition to test problem-solving and thinking in students from primary and secondary schools. It attracts thousands of participants from New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa and Uganda.
Kenakena School won the Regional competition and competed in the Nationals on 21st September. The team was placed in a room for 3 hours to make a play, related to a criteria and their solution needed to be creative. They also had to solve a Spontaneous Challenge where their team only had four minutes to come up with an out of the box solution to a quick challenge. This required quick and creative thinking and they were judged on teamwork and thinking processes as well as our creative ideas.
Kenakena School were very excited to be winners of a National title in Primary "The Arts" discipline. They are very proud to be able to travel to Hobart to represent both their school and New Zealand at the Tournament of Minds International Final. Please help them to try and reach their costs of around $1,700 per person for flights, accommodation and transport.
Kenakena School is right in the heart of Paraparaumu Beach, a beautiful, diverse New Zealand community. We work together and we place a strong emphasis on rich learning, which simply means that everything we teach and learn is interconnected, allowing children to really understand the work they do.
Money raised will go towards flights to/from Hobart and accommodation and transport costs. Any surplus funds raised will be used for future TOM Competitions.
