To help my Mum through her stem cell transplant..
Auckland
My Mum Tracey (58 years old) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in October last year. This type of leukemia is usually found in children who have a high risk of complete remission, however in adults it is a lot lower. She also has a rare form of this type of ALL which means it has been hard to know what treatment she should receive.
After 1 and a half rounds of chemo, she has battled through pneumonia, spending time in HDU, she has had blood infections causing a heart murmur. It has already been a tough road.
The next step is for Tracey to have a stem cell transplant. This is her last chance at survival.. if it works she could be back to normal within a year..
After she receives the stem cell transplant (if a donor is found), then she needs to stay in accommodation next to Auckland hospital for a minimum of 3 months during which time she will need a full time career to look after her and monitor any symptoms of graft vs host disease. This means that my awesome stepdad Ray will need to leave work to look after her for at least 6 months after the treatment. We would like to help my Mum and Ray to be able to afford this difficult time. Any donation is gratefully appreciated so that my Mum has every chance of beating this and being here with us and her grandchildren Lily and George.
Any left over funding will be donated to Leukemia Awareness.
Tracey is my beautiful Mum..❤️
The donations will go towards fuel, food and outgoing payments from loss of income. Any surplus funds will be donated to Leukemia Awareness.
