My brother died due to the overwhelming stress of an imminent mortgagee sale on our mother's home.
Moa Point, Wellington
I am writing to you during one of the darkest times in our lives. My brother tragically died on Parliament grounds, overwhelmed by the stress of an impending mortgagee sale on our mother's home—a place that has been in our family for 42 years. Despite his desperate attempts to be heard by the Bank and the government, his pleas went unanswered.
Now, our 68-year-old mother faces the loss of her home and the prospect of being homeless, along with her animals, by next week. We are not only grieving the loss of my brother but also struggling with the fear of losing the home filled with our family’s memories.
I humbly ask for any assistance or guidance you can provide to help us navigate this painful time. Any support—whether legal, financial, or simply a temporary reprieve—would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
