Treasured family yacht destroyed by Cyclone Gabrielle.

Help to fund the cleanup and replacement of a treasured boat for a destitute local artist.

Paihia, Northland

My 68 year old father Doug Robertson, a local retiree and artist living in Haruru, found his trimaran in pieces on Paihia beach this morning in the aftermath of cyclone Gabrielle.

The boat was my fathers pride and joy, he has spent all his spare time and what little funds he had working on it to get it seaworthy, only to have it break its mooring and become a pile of kindling on the beach along with all his tools and everything else in the boat. There is nothing left and he is devastated. The boat was uninsured.

Any contribution no matter how small would be appreciated and go a long way to helping Doug get back on his feet after this disaster.

Many Thanks  14 May 2023

Thank you to everyone who donated, your donations secured Doug a new boat! It's a bit of a project but he got it for the cost of the outstanding yard fees and is already busy working hard getting it ready to go back in the water. Thanks again everyone for your generosity and kindness.
