Trekking to the base of Mt. Everest & fundraising for Starship

Trekking to the base of Mt.Everest - planet’s highest mountain & helping Starship Children hospital, in April 2025.

I work full time, play music, jog half marathons, and am writing 2 books. Have a passion for mountains. Trek regularly in New Zealand. Trekked in Himalayas at age 13: a 54 km hike culminating at 3800mt Amarnath caves. I now do 3 to 4 treks a year through pristine New Zealand mountains; have hiked–Mueller Hut, Mt. Tongariro, Kepler track, Ben Lomond, Roys peak, and Mt. Taranaki to name a few.

It’s time to challenge the limits and reach 5364 metres- the Everest Base Camp (EBC), and 5644m Kala Patthar to see sunrise on Mt. Everest.

Having personally experienced the selfless dedication & wonderful medical care that Starship provides to save children, it is empowering and humbling to fundraise for them. Funds raised through this GiveALittle page will first go toward covering trip expenses i.e gear, accommodation and flights. I am personally committed to donating to Starship Foundation at least $50 for every 200 metres that I ascend. Additionally, any remaining balance from the donations through this page, after covering my expenses of $7108 (spreadsheet in Update), will also be donated to Starship.

I have some gear from my mountain treks, but need to add for the EBC. Am training, at my cost and also covering Guide, Porter and Visa.
