Tricias Transplant Trip

Christchurch, Canterbury

My gorgeous wife Tricia was diagnosed with PPMS (Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis)in 2011, and we have been living an awesome life together, Tricia doing an amazing job being the best mother to our gorgeous 3 boys (young men now) and continues to be the best wife a man could ever wish to be blessed with.

She has never allowed her illness to define her, never (seldom...) complaining, rather pushed herself more and more to continue to live, whatever 'normal' means, adjusting as her illness continued to chip away.

Her disease has progressed to the stage where her only option left, is to have HSCT (haematopoietic stem cell transplantation) a procedure that aims to reset the faulty immune system to stop this happening, a chance, to halt her progression.

This procedure involves pre tests, flights, 4 weeks undergoing the procedure and process in Mexico, then returning home to continue her recovery journey.

The cost for this is between $120-130,000.

After much prayers, tears and contemplating, we know this is our journey, we are embarking on the 20th Sept 2024.

If you feel you would like to contribute toward this for Tricia, every cent will be very, very gratefully received. 🙏

Use of funds

All funds will go toward the procedure and related travel required

Treatment journey update  19 October 2024

Well, Day 27 and boy oh boy it has been a roller-coaster of a week!

NGL, I really expected this to be our easiest week, didn't know how wrong I would be.

Started at the weekend with Sunday, Tricias white blood count dropping to 100 (which is great for her rebuilding after stemcells transplantation) still at 100 count 3 days later, during which she had to have an infusion to rehydrate her, not a pleasant couple days I can tell ya!

She received a Fligrastim jab in the evening to help stimulate WBC and volia 9700 count the following day!

Really happy about that as she was then able to have her Rituximab infusion, only a 3 hr process this time….and….we can now come home Saturday!!!!🥳🎉🥰!

Appreciate everyone for all your prayers, thoughts, love and support words cannot express how grateful we are xx❤💕.

Thanks again and we look forward to gradually catching up once we get home and Tricia can continue her recovery over the next 6 months.

Much love n Blessings.

Jamie n Tricia
