Jodie offers refuge and sanctuary to animals who have been rescued from the animal agribusiness.
Nationwide
This bobby calf pictured was going to be sent to the slaughter house tomorrow. We are sorting out his rescue but we need your support to make this happen! Calves are not cheap to raise.
Jodie has offered to foster him. She has already rescued two wee bobbies from the dairy industry and is about to take on three more. Jodie has a wee sanctuary with soon to be 5 rescue bobbies. 2 rescue goat kids, 3 rescue battery hen, 6 rescue piglets. Jodie needs a milk feeder for the calves as there are too many for her to individually feed at once.
Calves are extremely expensive to raise and it would be wonderful to offer Jodie some support as she is finding it a wee bit difficult right now. So far she has spent money on calf milk ($102 a bag ); moosli ( 24.00 a bag) ; bottles ($30 each); many bales of straw ($15 a bale); materials for calf shed; calf covers and halters. In future they will need vaccinations and drenching. These costs will be ongoing . Calves need at least one bag of milk powder each, but usually up to two. So milk alone will cost at least $200 per calf.
We are seeking to raise $2000 to cover the costs of transport, food, shelter etc as detailed above.
Jodie Dix has fostered some bobby calves and I am acting in my capacity as founder of Starfish Bobby Calf Project to support her financially in raising them.
All money will be used to cover costs incurred from raising these animals to date and into the furture. If the goal is reached surplus
