Mum and son trying to rebuild after devastating house fire
Auckland
My son and I would still be living In Ellerslie but unfortunately on 28 October a devastating fire burnt our house to the ground. We lost everything that We had built in the last 7 years. WINZ are going to leave us homeless this coming Monday as somehow, they expect me to have found suitable accommodation for my son and I to leave emergency housing by now. For the last 3 weeks my son has been unable to reside with me as the emergency housing is both unsafe and inappropriate for a child to stay in. Neither of us have spent more than the odd night apart before which is extremely distressful and disheartening for both of us as we are never apart for long. If it wasn’t for the lovely families of children at Panmure bridge school I don’t know what I would have done.
I had been hospitalised the week before the fire with a serious and acute health matter. I wasn’t home for even one night when my house burned down around me. I was rehospitalised with severe smoke inhalation.
It looks increasing likely I will have to rehospitalised for furtheir surgery which just adds to the stress of trying to rebuild all we lost.
Sadly we lost absolutely everything which means we have to restart again
We lost everything. So we need everything.
Clothes, household goods, everyday essentials, furniture if we move to unfurnished property.
Chattery and bunny boarding house fees once I find somewhere for our little family to go
IDs and birth certificates
Oh my thank our donation has me in tears. That may not seem like a lot to some people but it is to others and it means a lot your generosity to us ❤️
