Raising funds for a National Tuberous Sclerosis Complex New Zealand Conference
Nationwide
TSCNZ (www.tsc.org.nz) is a registered charity that supports New Zealanders affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC); a rare genetic condition that causes benign tumours to grow in different organs of the body. TSC commonly affects the brain, skin, heart, lungs and kidneys. Around 90% of people with TSC develop epilepsy and many have autism and intellectual disabilities. There is no cure, but with appropriate support people with TSC can live fulfilling lives.
Living with TSC is challenging; from coming to terms with the diagnosis, to navigating complicated health, social and education systems, to constantly advocating for fair opportunities to lead a good life.
TSCNZ holds national conferences so that families can get together to share their experiences, learn from expert speakers and discuss what the organisation can do to better inform, connect and support them. You can watch previous conference sessions, which we film to create resources that are available to all, on our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/@tuberoussclerosiscomplexnz5927
We rely on donations and small grants to run our conferences.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex NZ empowers people affected by TSC through access to up to date information, support and advocacy for best treatment options.
All funds raised through this page will contribute to the costs of running the next TSCNZ National Conference.
These include venue hire, catering, a videographer, speaker expenses and Travel/Accommodation Grants for the TSC Community.
