Well after a busy December and Christmas, I've finally managed to get some woodwork time in. A few false starts with the coping hand saw. So my darling husband purchased a scroll saw for me. So finally on my way.Thank you for your support.
So finally to the drawing stage. Then making the drawing into a technical drawing to work from . Waiting for the wood I have ordered to arrive so I can start carving .
Hi everyone, it has been a very busy month. We have been learning about wood to use for carving. Also important things about tools, hand tools and something a bit gruntier. Safety procedures, and all important tool sharpening.
The most exciting thing has been designing our very first puppet. We then have to transfer our dream to technical drawing paper and make sure everything will work. So here is my first design.
Thank you everyone who has supported me thus far. I am paying for my tuition on a monthly basis, and I nearly have enough for 1 months tuition. Any help is very appreciated.
Another quick update for those of you who are following me on my journey. My tutor and his team live in Iceland, which at the moment is undergoing evacuations in some areas. There is an active volcano they are concerned will erupt, along with many earthquakes. Being from Christchurch I understand the earthquakes. The team are all safe and well at this point. They live near Rachiavic.
Hi everyone, just a little update. Our first project is to build a small tabletop workbench to use for carving. My project isn't finished yet, but will update when it is. I have practice to do in cutting straight. Fabric is certainly easier for me, so a new skill to be mastered.
