Tyler's final wish is to visit with a special person in the USA before he dies.

Tyler is 18 years old currently but has the mental age of a 12 year old. Tyler has Timothy Syndrome, Long QT Syndrome and last year was diagnosed with Episodle Disfunction.
Since the age of 13 months old, Tyler has had a pacemaker due to the heart conditions he has. He also has an implanted defibrillator which jump-starts his heart when it stops.
Over his short life, Tyler has had countless operations and as a complication of his condition, he reacts badly to the anesthetic and many times his family have been told to expect the worst. We are so lucky to have had Tyler pull through each and every one of them, despite the Doctors warnings.
Tyler has had many hurdles to overcome in his life. He lost his darling mum when he was only 6 years old. Life has not been easy for him but he is such a fighter, and has proved this to us all over and over again. Tyler has lived with his grandparents, along with his sister since his mum passed away. His Grandmother has been unable to work due to caring for the children, and the ongoing issues with Tyler's health.
Tylers condition of Timothy Syndrome is a form of sever cardiac arrhythmia. Children diagnosed with this develop spontaneous genetic mutations. Tyler produces excessive amounts of calcium and as a result his teeth were terribly deformed.
Tyler is one of only 20 people WORLDWIDE living with this condition. Most children diagnosed do not survive past early childhood. This is one of the reasons why we have been so blessed to have Tyler in our lives. He has surprised everyone with his love of life and his fight to survive.
Long QT Syndrome is the disorder of the electrical activity of the heart and can result in blackouts and sudden death.
Episodle Disfunction is where the brain does not connect as it should. The results of this condition is angry fits of yelling and lashing out. Along with this is short concentration spans and learning disabilities.
REASON FOR FUNDRAISING:
In 2014 Tyler was lucky enough to go away on a trip of a lifetime to the USA with a children's charity called Koru Care. Tyler has such fond memories of his experience. While he was there, he met a special lady called Ginny who is a supporter of the trip. Jenny took a liking to Tyler and heard his story. As a consequence she sent money back to New Zealand to pay for orthodontic work for his teeth over a period of two years.
Tyler was so grateful for the generous donation which allowed him to get his teeth seen to, that his final dying wish is to visit with Jenny in person so she can see the dental work for herself, and to give Tyler a chance to thank her for her generosity one last time.
Tyler and family would also like to thank the orthodontist who made it possible for the dental work to be completed.
I am involved because I am a member of the Koru Care Charitable Trust team. I am hoping we can raise enough funds for Tyler to visit USA before he passes away. His health is deteriorating at a faster rate now and it is urgent that he ticks this off his bucket list.
Funds raised will be used to pay for the airfare for Tyler and his caregiver Brenda Holdsworth to venture to the USA. Any funds over and above will be used to pay for transport and accommodation in the USA.
