Tyson’s battle with Leukemia

On the 9th of March 2020, Tyson was hospitalised with what was initially thought to be a viral infection. After his blood test results came back, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Tyson has already begun treatment at Starship Hospital in Auckland, with both of his parents taking care of him and keeping him company whilst he begins the long journey back to health. Doctors have said that Tyson will need treatment for 2-3 years. Tyson has 7 siblings (aged between 2 months and 14 years old) who are still at home in Hamilton.

We have no doubt that Tyson will put up the bravest and toughest fight he can. He is an avid sports-player and is looking forward to beating ALL and returning home to his family victorious!

Any funds will be gratefully received by Tyson’s parents and used for travel expenses to and from Hamilton, organising care for Tyson’s siblings and other expenses incurred while Tyson is receiving treatment.
