UICNZ Symposium Crowdfunder

$4,148 of $100,000 goal
Given by 32 generous donors in 8 weeks

In March 2016 UICNZ plans to host a first of its kind medical cannabis symposium in Wellington NZ In order to logically progress the issue

Hawke's Bay

UICNZ is a trust whose purposes are to educate the NZ public on Medical Cannabis, supporting and facilitating NZ based research into the therapeutic effects of cannabinoid based medicines, as well as providing support to New Zealanders who would like access to safe legal medical cannabis products

Medical Cannabis presents a conundrum to government and medical professionals, its illegality nationally and internationally has meant that it has been difficult to study it in clinical trials

Globally where medical cannabis is legal considerable effort has gone into developing strains and ratios that are carefully tailored for medical use, to reduce any unwanted side effects and boost more desirable ingredients

UICNZ would like to facilitate NZ based cultivation, production and research to a pharmaceutical standard at compassionate and affordable prices of medical cannabis products also facilitating the necessary trials to introduce such products as new medicines

It has become clear that first we must have logical and mature discussion with an open mind as well as extensive education surrounding medical cannabis and its potential medicinal benefits so that both the negative and positive aspects of this issue can be considered in order for NZ and UICNZ to progress to a regulatory regime where there is suitable, safe and legal access to medical cannabis products for genuine sufferers. Also assuring the relative medical professionals receive adequate education and feel supported in supporting patients when such access becomes available.

About us

UICNZ was setup with the aim to educate the NZ public on Medical Cannabis, supporting and facilitating NZ based research into the therapeutic effects of cannabinoid based medicines, as well as providing support to New Zealanders wanting safe, legal access

Medical Cannabis present s conundrum to government and medical professionals, its illegality globally and nationally has meant that it has been difficult to study it in clinical trials

Globally where medical cannabis is legal considerable effort has gone into developing strains and ratios that are carefully tailored for medical use to reduce any unwanted side effects and boost more desirable ingredients

UICNZ would like to facilitate NZ based cultivation, production to a pharmaceutical standard and compassionate affordable access via the necessary trials of medical cannabis

But first it has become clear that mature and balanced discussion and education surrounding medical cannabis and its potential medicinal benefits is required

So in March 2016 we will be hosting a first of its kind NZ medical cannabis symposium in Wellington offering expertise, information, data, research and discussion on the current global climate and how both the negative and positive aspects of those can be considered in order for NZ to progress

This GiveALittle page has been setup to raise funds to host the symposium and any proceeds from the symposium will be directed into further progress and development as described above with day one of the symposium focused at attendance of the medical, scientific and government community and day two focused on attendance of the patient/carer/parent community of New Zealand ending with a charity gig with musicians to be announced

Costs for the symposium are detailed below, please note these are based on quotations from various companies who were approached to provided quotes so that an understanding of a total approx. cost to run this event was understood
