We are raising funds for purchasing body warmers which are in a huge demand in Ukraine.
Christchurch, Canterbury
After months of intense bombing of civilian electric grid, gas and water supply infrastructure, Russia has frazzled Ukraine to the edge of a humanitarian disaster this winter as millions of people potentially face life-threatening conditions without electricity, heat or running water.
In collaboration with Dobrovoz (https://www.dobrovoz.org/en) humanitarian volunteer project and RescueNow Ukrainian volunteers (https://rescuenow.com.ua/en/home/), we are trying to help Ukrainians affected by war. Apart from supporting volunteers’ projects, we also pack and send to Ukraine boxes filled with wool thermals, blankets, socks, body warmers and medical equipment.
We need you help and support to intensify the delivery!
We are here to help Ukraine, its citizens and defenders in any way we can.
For each $20 you donate we are can buy 12 bodywarmers and hand-deliver them straight to people who need them. A bodywarmer is a 10 x 13 cm 100% natural pad which provides 20+ hours of gentle warmth.
Alternatively, for each $20 you donate we can pack and send ~1 kg of warm clothes from New Zealand to Ukraine. We are delivering wool thermals, socks, blankets and other items donated by friends of Ukraine.
Our new Givealittle page can be found here: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/thermal-underwear-for-ukraine
Your donations will be used on delivering bodywarmers and warm clothes to Ukraine.
Good news! 2 April 2023
Friends, thanks to your help, we managed to send almost 200 kg of warm sweaters and thermal underwear to Ukraine, generously provided by The Weft Knitting Company (https://www.weft.co.nz/). Kharkiv volunteers helped to distribute things directly into the hands of people who lost, or were forced to leave their homes in Donbas due to Russian aggression.
