Help reunite my trapped mother and siblings from Gaza, funding their journey to safety in New Zealand, and give them hope to see tomorrow.
Wellington
Ahmed, a proud Palestinian-New Zealander, embarked on a journey 6 years ago as a former refugee, driven by the dream of becoming a doctor, ignited by the health struggles of his homeland, Gaza. Now, nearing the completion of his medical studies in Wellington, his heart aches with despair as his beloved family remains trapped amidst the harrowing conflict in Gaza.
Their lives are fractured by relentless bombings, forcing them to flee multiple times, seeking refuge in tents, deprived of the most basic necessities like food, water, and medical aid. With communication cut off, fear for their safety intensifies by the day.
In Auckland, Ahmed's nine siblings grapple with anguish, their hearts heavy with the inability to reach their loved ones. Each passing day takes its toll on their mother's health, while his youngest siblings bear the weight of unimaginable suffering.
Your generous contributions will pave the way for their evacuation from Gaza, offering a glimmer of hope amid the darkness, as they journey towards the safety of Egypt and, ultimately, the embrace of their family in New Zealand.
As they face insurmountable barriers and the deafening silence of governments, Ahmed calls upon us to defy the odds, amplify our voices, and extend a lifeline to those trapped in the grip of conflict. Every donation, every share, every act of solidarity brings them one step closer to reuniting with their family and reclaiming the chance to live, dream, and thrive once more.
I am the close relative and primary caretaker of the beneficiaries, comprising my mother, young siblings, and auntie, who are currently trapped in Gaza and in need of urgent evacuation assistance in order to survive

Gratitude and Resilience 26 October 2024
Kia ora once again,
To everyone reading this message, thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with us. Your donations have provided crucial assistance, helping to keep my remaining family members from starving day and night. We have been using these funds to secure basic necessities, including food and medical supplies, providing a lifeline in these desperate times. Yet, we understand that individual efforts alone cannot resolve the broader issues at hand. The world has, in many ways, turned a blind eye to the horrors unfolding in Gaza, and it weighs heavily on our hearts.
As we navigate this challenging journey, we will continue to thrive with what we have left. We may feel as though we have nothing, but it is often from this very nothingness that a journey of hope begins. We will draw strength from our collective resilience and the hope that fuels our spirit. While we may face adversity, we remain committed to our identity and values, carrying forward the memories of those we have lost. Together, we will find a way to persevere, turning our pain into purpose.
To those in New Zealand who we once thought were our family but have since distanced themselves: as Palestinians, we possess the strength of a mountain, the patience of a camel traversing the desert, and a hope that knows no bounds. Distance may grow, yet our unity remains strong.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support has meant everything.
