A week of gruelling operations, with some lasting as long as eight hours, boils down to a shocking turn of events. With the risk of bone infection and accumulation of dead tissue overshadowing Lochana Ayya's recovery, the doctors have recommended amputating the arm in an attempt to prevent any further deterioration of his health.

Erandi Akki and the family are to make a final decision by tomorrow - Monday the 20th, January.

May all our prayers be with Lochana Ayya and the family.

Lochana ayya has had two crucial operations, both of which lasted 6 to 8 hours. The doctors have been working around the clock and are content with the blood vessel operations thus far, and they hope to move on to further operations which will involve bone restoration.

A major nerve has been completely damaged and Lochana ayya has lost a lot of blood since the day of the car crash. The ramifications of this accident are still unclear, however, the major nerve damage will inevitably have permanent repercussions on the movement of his right hand - which is Lochana's dominant hand.
